Dr. Wendy Downey earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Educational Leadership from Case Western University and is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE). Outside of nursing, she also holds a graduate degree in Exercise Physiology and undergraduate degrees Health Education and Exercise Science from Virginia Tech. Dr. Downey worked in acute care for more than 20 years, with the majority of her time spent in cardiovascular leadership.
Her research interests and specialties include nursing leadership, curriculum development, inter-professional education, technology integration in education, cardiovascular wellness, and end-of-life / palliative care.
