I have a long history teaching nurses and nurse practitioners at the doctoral, master’s and baccalaureate levels. Prior to becoming an educator, I had worked for many years as a nurse and nurse practitioner, primarily in the areas of women’s health but also in hospice, inpatient obstetrics and gynecology, and the emergency department. At Radford University, I have had the opportunity to work as a PI or co-investigator on several studies. I am especially interested in exploring the potential of complementary therapies for those with difficult and chronic conditions, and access to healthcare for rural and underserved clients, I enjoy working with with students on research projects. Currently, I am completing two projects related to chiropractic and traditional therapies for those with chronic health conditions, a study related to yoga for opioid rehab inpatients and mindfulness meditation for local inmates. I enjoy the intersection of teaching, research and practice. I appreciate Radford University for the support of faculty and students.
