Dr. Sarah Keaton earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Old Dominion University and is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Outside of nursing, she also holds undergraduate degrees in Biological Sciences and Human Nutrition, Food, and Exercise (HNFE) from Virginia Tech. Dr. Keaton has experience working in medical-surgical nursing, orthopedics, and primary care. She currently works as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care. She is also a faculty advisor for the Student Nurses' Organization at Radford University Carilion. Her clinical and research interests include community and population health, preventive and integrative medicine, orthopedics, technology integration in healthcare delivery and education, resiliency education, and student engagement and success.
