Carey Cole, DNP, FNP-BC is an Assistant Professor at Radford University (RU), Radford, Virginia. She has over 20 years of combined experience as a Registered Nurse and a Family Nurse Practitioner. She specializes in Family Practice with a focus in Gerontology. Her clinical practice is at Centra Medical Group – Village where she continues to serve the community of Moneta, Virginia. Dr. Cole has been teaching at Radford University since 2006. She started as clinical adjunct faculty in Gerontology and has taught courses in both graduate and undergraduate studies. These include Pharmacology, Gerontology Nursing, Chronic Illness Across the Lifespan, Primary Care, and Advanced Practice Nursing Residency. She was appointed as Interim Academic Unit Head/Chair of Graduate Nursing in 2022. Dr. Cole loves to travel and has an interest in international health care along with providing medical care to underserved populations.
