Dr. Abhay Kaushik

Dr. Kaushik completed his PhD in finance at Florida Atlantic University in 2007. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, an MBA, and MS in Economics. His research is focused on financial institutions mainly analyzing different aspects of actively managed mutual funds. Dr. Kaushik's research captures a wide audience that includes both academia and practitioners. Dr. Kaushik's research has been featured on news media outlets like CBS News Money Watch, and websites like Morningstar, Motley Fool, Mutual Fund Observer, to name a few. His research was also cited by a mega-billion dollars fund family. His research has been published in the Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Investing, Journal of Real Estate Practice and Education, Financial Services Review, and other journals. Dr. Kaushik has been invited by well-respected finance conferences to present his research. He has presented his research findings at annual meetings of the Financial Management Association, the Southern Finance Association, and others. Dr. Kaushik serves as an ad hoc reviewer to many respectable journals and conferences. Dr. Kaushik was also honored by the College of Business and Economics at RU with the Outstanding Faculty Award. Dr. Kaushik actively engages with students in doing research and his mentored student has earned competitive summer undergraduate research fellowship. Dr. Kaushik also serves as a faculty adviser to Student Managed Investment Portfolio Organization (SMIPO) at RU and principal adviser to the Financial Management Association at RU. Dr. Kaushik is also a proud member of two honors societies-Beta Gama Sigma and Omicron Delta Epsilon.
